Removing Thumbnail Images from the Item Detail Page

Purpose:
To explain how to remove the small thumbnail image from the item detail page.
On the item detail page, if you have multiple product images, you likely want the small thumbnail images to display below the main image so the shopper can select among the alternate views of the product. However, you can optionally exclude one or more thumbnail images from the grouping.
Similarly, if there is only one product image, you may wish to remove the thumbnail image as there are no other images to view.
Solution:
  1. Select Catalog (horizontal top menu) / Manage Products.
  2. Select the item you wish to edit, and then click on the Images tab.
  3. For each image you wish to exclude from the thumbnail groupings, check the Exclude checkbox. If the Exclude box is checked, the image will not display in the More Views section on item detail pages.
  4. Save your changes.
