Rich Formatting Editor FAQ
Purpose:
To answer the most Frequently Asked Questions, in regards to the WYSIWYG editors available throughout the NRO Admin Panel.
Solution:
What is the Rich Formatting Editor?
This is the Web-page editing tool that comes up when you click the
Rich Formatting
tab to edit the content of your store's Web pages or your Newsletter templates.
What does WYSIWYG editor mean?
WYSIWYG is an acronym for What You See Is What You Get. The acronym insinuates that the editor is intuitive, because there are buttons that format the content with HTML, so that the user isn't required to know how to program for the web.
What is the Rich Formatting Editor for?
The Rich Formatting Editor allows you to make content and formatting changes to your site's pages without having to know any HTML code. It uses a friendly graphical interface with a toolbar similar to a word processor.
Changes are not saved after I use the Rich Formatting Editor. Why not?
You have to be sure to save the changes in two places:
-
Click the little save button in the top right corner of the page you are editing.
My image doesn't appear in the editor window. Why not?
-
When you first click on the insert/image icon to insert an image it opens the image editor to add an image.
-
When you
click
on the
browse
button, the
insert/edit image window
loses focus and drops behind the other windows. Look on your
taskbar
at the bottom for the
Insert/Edit Image tab
.
Click
on the
tab
to open it back up. Fill out the information about the image and click
Insert
and the image will appear.
JavaScript disappears after I use the Rich Formatting Editor. Why?
Once JavaScript is used on a content page, you cannot edit that page using the Rich Formatting Editor. If you need to make changes to the content of a page that incorporates JavaScript, you should make them without using the Rich Formatting Editor.
