Purpose:
This article will explain how to decide upon what Counterpoint drawer should be used for ecommerce.
Solution:
When orders come into Counterpoint, they must import into a specific store, station and drawer. The drawer being used for ecommerce can't be in use, during the Ecommerce / Import process. If the drawer indicated for ecommerce is in use, an alert will appear telling you that the ecommerce import process needs access to the drawer. Typically, you must ask everyone to log out of the drawer before the import can be attempted.
That's why it is a good idea to set up a unique drawer for ecommerce. It can even be a virtual drawer. Having a drawer reserved for Ecommerce has advantages, from a reporting perspective.
When deciding upon the drawer, you also have to pick a station. People are assigned to Drawers and Drawers are assigned to Stations and Stations are assigned to Stores. Finally, this decision might be one about which you consult with your accounting staff or management team or even your Counterpoint partner.
