Summary:
This article will explain how to remove the password from password recovery emails and Welcome emails that go to the customer..
Solution:
To customize the built in Magento Welcome email, it will be necessary to make a copy of the original. After the customized email template is made, it can be mapped into the store’s applicable sales email.
The templates are edited under Sales > Transactional Emails. To create a new edited version of your email, click "Add New Template.” Then, from the Template drop menu, choose the default Magento email template to be customized and load it by clicking the "Load Template" button. After customizing the content, save your changes.
The emails that can send the actual password to the customer are:
Forgot Password
Remind Password
New Account
The section you'll want to update will look something like this:
After creating the custom email templates, it will be necessary to tell the system to use the custom email. To do this, go to System > Configuration > Customers Section > Customer Configuration tab. Expand the Create New Account Options and Password Options panels and change the email template mapping to use your custom email. For Create New Account Options, you're only changing the Default Welcome Email mapping. For the Password Options, you're changing both Forgot and Remind Email templates.
RHA Support doesn't include assistance with directly editing your email templates, but we can provide that kind of assistance through professional services.
