Setting up Google Sitemaps

Google Sitemaps


A Sitemap is a file that lists all of the web pages of a website. It is used to tell Google and other search engines how a website's content is organized. Search engine web crawlers like Googlebot use this information to more intelligently crawl your site.
To set up a Google Sitemap in NRO perform the following steps:
  1. From the Admin Panel go to Catalog / Google Sitemap
  2. Click on Add Sitemap at the top right
  3. In the Filename field enter in Sitemap.xml
  4. In the Path field enter in a / (forward slash)
  5. Click Save and Generate
Next log in to your Google Webmaster account by clicking here
  1. Click on the link for your website
  2. In the menu on the left click on Crawl
  3. Click on Sitemaps
  4. Click on Add/Test Sitemap at the top right
  5. Enter in the path to your sitemap file.
    • Typically just enter in Sitemap.xml as the path will already be the website URL with a / at the end.
  6. Click Save
  7. Refresh the page and the Sitemap should now be visible.
