Setting Up Shopping Cart Price Rules

Purpose:
To explain how to set up shopping cart price rules. These price rules apply only to items that are in your cart.
Solution:
  1. Select Promotions (horizontal top menu)/ Shopping Cart Price Rules .
  2. Click Add New Price Rule .
  3. Under the Rule Information Section (left-hand menu), give the new rule a Rule Name , Description , Status , a From Date and To Date , and a Priority .
  4. Move to the Conditions Section.  Here you will add the requirements that need to be be met to qualify for the price rule.
  5. Switch to the Actions Section.  These are the actions NRO will take when the conditions are met.  You can discount by:

  • Percentage of product price discount
  • Fixed amount discount
  • Fixed amount discount for whole cart
  • Buy X get Y free (discount amount is Y)
6.   Set the Discount Amount .
7.   Add a number for Maximum Qty Discount is Applied To
8.   Add a number for the Discount Qty Step (Buy x) .
9.   Choose yes or no to Apply to Shipping Amount .
10.  Select yes or no for Free Shipping .
11.  Choose yes or no to Stop Further Rules Processing .
12.  Add text for the Default Rule Label for All Store Views .
11. Save your changes.
