Publishing Tracking Numbers from Counterpoint and Sending Emails to Customers

Summary:

To explain how to enter package tracking numbers into Ecommerce orders in Counterpoint, publish those tracking numbers to NCR Retail Online (NRO), and send an order status email to customers.

Enter Tracking Numbers in Counterpoint:

In order to add a tracking number to an order in Counterpoint, you must edit the order. This means that tracking numbers cannot be added through Order Management. In order to add tracking numbers through Touchscreen Ticket Entry, you will most likely need a button added to your menu. If you're not familiar with adding buttons to Touchscreen Ticket Entry, please consult with your Counterpoint partner company.

It is quite easy, however, to add tracking numbers when using Ticket Entry by using the Additional functions button and navigating to Ticket > Tracking Numbers.

Another method that can be used to enter tracking numbers into Counterpoint tickets is to use Point of Sale / Tracking #s / Enter.

WARNING :
Tracking numbers must be entered after an order has been released but before it has been posted.

Publishing tracking numbers to NRO:

In order to send tracking numbers from Counterpoint to NRO, you must publish this data using a publish code that includes orders.

Update Publish with Orders

Order information can be published back to NRO using any of the publish codes you normally use, including those used with ADT (Automated Data Transfter).

Sending Order Status Emails That Include Tracking Numbers:

In order to send order status emails pertaining to tracking numbers, you must enable the Shipment email under System / Configuration / Sales / Sales Emails.  See the Related Articles below for more information.
