Purpose:
To explain how to resolve the Counterpoint import error, "ERROR: Item record not found."
Solution:
This usually occurs when the gridded item has changed, but the changes weren’t published to NRO before the item was purchased.
NRO and Counterpoint marry up specific grid cell combinations to a number that appears on the data base side. Through Counterpoint, you see the item number and its grid cell definitions. But, on the database side, an item number and its grid cell definitions look very different.
For example, looking at the item number through the Counterpoint GUI, the item would appear as item number ABC123 that comes in different colors and sizes, such as green/small. But, from the database perspective, the item number might appear as ABC1230101 or ABC123010100.
When a grid cell is altered in any way, those numbers renumber. The only way to ensure this problem doesn’t occur again is to be sure to always immediately publish any changes to a gridded item to NRO.
When this error is encountered, please do a full item range, full replacement publish and then contact support with each affected order number to request the orders be pushed back down. Please be aware that the order has to be in a Processing status in order to be pushed back down. Support can be contacted by clicking
