Setting Up ’Shop by Price’ Tiers

Purpose:
To explain how you can change the 'shop by price' tier on the left side of the screen. For example:
Solution:
  1. Select System (horizontal top menu) / Configuration.
  2. Go to the Catalog section then the Catalog tab.
  3. Expand the Layered Navigation tab.
  4. Choose whether or not to Display Product Count . Select Yes if you want to display the number of products included in each price breakdown.
  5. Change the Price Navigation Step Calculation method:
    - Automatic (equalize price ranges) : To automatically determine the pricing levels based on your data. Price levels will be broken down so that each price group is evenly distributed across the lowest and highest price points for your products. This is the most common selection.
    - Automatic (equalize product counts) : To automatically determine the pricing levels based on your data. Price levels will be broken down so that each price group contains approximately the same number of products.
    - Manual : To manually determine your own pricing levels. Enter a numeric value to determine how price ranges are grouped in the layered navigation. For example, if set to 150, prices are displayed in groups of 150 as follows:
    • $0.00 - $149.99
    • $150 - $299.99
    • $300 - $449.99
  6. Save your changes.
