Why are there so many more items in the NRO Admin Panel than in Counterpoint?

Purpose:
To explain why there seem to be more items visible in the NRO Admin Panel than in Counterpoint, and how to filter the results to a manageable product list.
For each item that has either
grid options or alternate units, you’ll actually see multiple items in the NRO Admin
Panel. There will be a separate "item" for each cell of a gridded item as well as for each unit
of an alternate unit item. Notice in the Visibility column, some of the items are "Not Visible Individually".
That means the "item" is just one component of the whole item. The SKU
for the whole item matches the SKU in Counterpoint, but the individual
units and/or grid
cells have a longer SKU number as NRO appends a unique identifier to the
end of the SKU for components.
You can optionally filter
the Visibility column to "Catalog, Search" (items that display in your online
catalog and/or are found in the search results) if you just wish to see your "real" items without all the separate components.
Solution:
Select
Catalog / Manage Products
to view your entire list of items.
In the
Visibility
column, select "
Catalog, Search
" and press the
Enter
key to filter the results.
