Publishing Inventory Quantities From One or More Locations

Purpose:
To explain how publish quantity for an item across any location where that item is stocked.
Solution:
You can publish CounterPoint inventory from one location or from all locations:

Counterpoint / Setup / Ecommerce / Control
Open the Items tab
The value in the Quantity Available field indicates the quantity you will make available for the items in your online store.

To publish from all locations:
Qty on hand (Item) or Qty available (Item)
Either setting totals the quantity available for each item across all locations where the item is stocked. The item must be stocked in the ecommerce location. The ecommerce location is associated to the store that was selected as the ecommerce store on the Main tab of the Ecommerce Control file. Qty on hand is the quantity before committed. Qty available is the Quantity less committed.

To publish from only one location:
Qty on hand (Location) or Qty available (Location)
Either setting publishes the quantity available at your selected ecommerce location only. The ecommerce location is associated to the store that was selected as the ecommerce store on the Main tab of the Ecommerce Control file. Qty on hand is the quantity before committed. Qty available is the Quantity less committed.

What is the difference between Qty on hand and Qty available?
Qty on hand = All inventory at specified location(s)
Qty available = All inventory at the specified location(s), minus any inventory already committed

Important: You must also make sure that the items are normally stocked at the location from which you are publishing. Here are the necessary steps to do that:
Counterpoint / Inventory / Items / [pull up item]
Click the button at the bottom of the menu labeled Inventory.
Click the Create Inventory button.
Either specify a location, or select All Locations to stock at all locations.
Save changes by clicking the blue floppy disk in the upper left corner.
