Setting Up Out-of-Stock Notifications

Purpose:
To explain how to set up out-of-stock notification so your customers will be alerted to backorders on the cart page.
Solution:
  1. Select System (along the top menu) / Configuration .
  2. Under the Catalog section click on Inventory tab.
  3. Under the Product Stock Options panel, change Backorders to Allow Qty Below 0 and Notify Customer .
  4. Save your changes.
